Doctors in two districts of Karakalpakstan to receive supplements of up to 200%

The increased payments are intended to incentivize doctors to work in remote areas. As noted during the head of state's visit, similar supplements are already in place for medical personnel in the Muynak district.

Data on the development of healthcare in the region was also presented during the meeting: medical institutions received $10 million worth of equipment, and a health insurance mechanism was introduced. Since the beginning of the year, 1,500 complex surgical procedures have been performed in Karakalpakstan, including heart and brain surgeries, as well as plastic surgery operations. Kidney and liver transplants are performed at the Nukus central hospital, while the Aral Children's Hospital provides 150 types of high-tech care.

In addition, a medical science academy based on a public-private partnership was established in Nukus for the certification and advanced training of specialists. In the future, there are plans to combine it, along with the children's clinic, the oncology center, and a new multidisciplinary hospital, into a University Medical Cluster.
