Doctors in two districts of Karakalpakstan to receive salary supplements of up to 200%

The medical specialists in the Bozatau and Takhtakupyr districts of Karakalpakstan will start receiving salary supplements of up to 200% from January 1, 2027. This was stated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at a meeting on the development of the region.

The increased payments are designed to stimulate doctors to work in remote areas. As noted during the head of state's visit, similar supplements are already in effect for medics in the Muynak district.

During the meeting, data on the development of healthcare in the region were also presented: medical institutions received equipment worth $10 million, and a medical insurance mechanism was introduced. Since the beginning of the year, 1.5 thousand complex surgical interventions have been performed in Karakalpakstan, including heart and brain surgeries, as well as in the field of plastic surgery. The central hospital in Nukus performs kidney and liver transplants, and the Priaral Children's Hospital provides 150 types of high-tech care.

In addition, a medical scientific academy was created in Nukus on the basis of public-private partnership for the certification and advanced training of specialists. In the future, it, the children's clinic, the oncology center, and the new multi-profile hospital are planned to be combined into a University Medical Cluster.
