Mirziyoyev announces expansion of free medication list from 2027

Of the 69 medications currently provided for free, 28 are provided under the reimbursement program. From 2027, the number of such items is planned to be increased to 69. According to a representative of the Ministry of Health in February 2025, 28 diagnostic tests and 22 laboratory tests are guaranteed to be available in polyclinics at the place of residence.

According to the president, early screening for lung, stomach, colon, and prostate cancer will start in Samarkand, and from 2028, it is planned to be extended to all regions. 700 billion soums will be allocated annually for these purposes. The existing programs for early diagnosis of tuberculosis, diabetes, heart and vascular diseases, oncohematological diseases in children, and tumors in women will continue.

The program aimed at early detection and treatment of heart attacks and strokes is operating in Andijan, Fergana, Namangan, Samarkand, and Tashkent. According to the head of state, over five months, mortality at early stages of these diseases decreased by 15%, and assistance within the "golden hour" allowed 855 people to be saved from premature death and severe consequences. 280 billion soums are planned to be allocated in 2027 to expand the program to all districts and cities.

Mirziyoyev also spoke about a new model of primary care, tested in 28 districts: 7 million residents are attached to family doctors, the duties of the parties are fixed in mutual agreements, laboratories have been opened, and patient routes have been developed. From 2027, the model is planned to be introduced in another 100 districts.
