Clinics warned of fines for promises of complete cure in advertising

The Committee for Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights warned medical organizations about the responsibility for advertising with promises of guaranteed treatment results or absence of side effects. For such violations, a fine of 70 BRV is threatened.

According to the regulator, the promotion of medical services often contains phrases such as "we will cure the disease forever", "we will cure in three days", "absolutely safe" and statements about the absence of side effects. The agency recalled that Article 16 of the Law "On Advertising" prohibits formulations that mislead consumers, deny contraindications or guarantee recovery. Organizations are also prohibited from advertising areas not specified in their license.

For inadequate advertising, a fine of 70 BRV is provided, and the damage caused to the consumer is subject to full compensation. The agency stated that it will continue systematic monitoring of advertising materials.

The warning followed an increase in the number of complaints: since the beginning of 2026, the committee has registered over 900 appeals in the medical and pharmaceutical spheres, which is almost twice the indicator for the same period last year. After their consideration, clients recalculated more than 300 million soum for goods and services. At the same time, the agency did not provide the exact share of complaints directly related to advertising.
