Ministry of Transport and French delegation discuss urban transport and New Tashkent

The meeting was also attended by representatives of French companies Alstom, IVECO and Dassault Systèmes. The parties discussed the priorities for the development of transport in Uzbekistan, in particular urban transport and multimodal solutions that connect areas within and outside cities.

Separately, they discussed the training of local operators and technical specialists so that they can maintain and operate different types of urban transport for many years. They also talked about creating a multimodal system that combines trains, metro, cars and other modes of transport. Gerard Wolff noted that when forming the transport system of New Tashkent, it is essential to consider decarbonization, efficiency and multimodality.

The French side proposed establishing cooperation between Dassault Systèmes and Uzbekistan on digital twins of logistics hubs and transportation network planning. In addition, they proposed organizing a working trip for a delegation from the Ministry of Transport to France: the program includes getting acquainted with the Paris-Saclay scientific and technological innovation cluster, which the ministry calls the largest in France, as well as with French experience in managing urban transport.

On the same day, the Ministry of Economy and Finance reported on negotiations with the French delegation, which discussed joint projects in energy, water supply, transport and communal infrastructure.
