Tashkent to landscape 1.3-hectare area behind National Library

The project is planned on a 1.3-hectare plot (13,000 square meters) on Istiqlol Street in the Qashqar mahalla of the Yunusabad district. The right to conclude a 10-year agreement will be put up for electronic auction with a starting price of 514.2 million soums. The investor is required to invest at least 10 billion soums and launch the project within three months.

The PPP terms prohibit permanent construction and the cutting down of existing trees. The project provides for planting more than a thousand trees and shrubs, building a new 720-meter sidewalk, laying pedestrian paths and cycle lanes, creating recreation areas, a sports ground, a children's playground, as well as lightweight-structure food outlets. In addition, the private partner must provide at least two buggy- or golf-cart-type electric vehicles to transport visitors.

The parking system will be equipped with displays showing available spaces and integrated with the "Pullik to‘xtash joyi" information system. Tariffs will be agreed upon with the city administration. At the request of the authorities, the area can be used for city holidays and festivals for up to 60 days a year.
