Construction of district for 50,000 residents begins in Nukus

The district will cover an area of 270 hectares in the northeast of the city. According to the head of state, plans involve attracting foreign investors to construct high-rise buildings, business, retail, and service complexes, as well as create green areas using energy-saving technologies.

The development of the urban environment in Karakalpakstan was also discussed at the meeting. The president noted that a 24-hour zone was created on Mustaqillik Street in Nukus, where 28 businesses opened and another 50 expanded their operations, resulting in a doubling of weekly revenue. In addition, the Nur and Elobod mahallas will be upgraded following the model of Tashkent's Kichkirik mahalla, with the local park being reconstructed by the Navruz holiday.

In the Kegeyli district, the construction of 100 service facilities has begun on the site of a closed 3.5-kilometer canal, where up to 320 people are planned to be employed. Regional khokims were instructed to complete similar improvement projects on at least one street and in one mahalla of their assigned districts by Navruz.
