ChatGPT now has a virtual clothing try-on feature based on user photos, according to OpenAI.

For the tool to work, the user needs to upload a selfie and a full-length photo, after which they need to click the "Try on" button in the card of the found item. The chatbot also allows trying on clothes by uploading screenshots from third-party online stores or selecting a wardrobe based on a text description of the style.

The generation of images is based on the neural network model ChatGPT Images 2.5, presented by the company in September. Along with the fitting tool, the developers added a "Library" ("Favorites") section where you can save found items for later viewing.

OpenAI retained the standard privacy rules: user-uploaded photos are used by default to train algorithms if the account owner has not disabled this feature in the settings. The previously working Instant Checkout option for instant payment of orders directly within the chat is currently unavailable.

What it means

Users can test looks and select clothing based on photos or screenshots directly in the chatbot, saving items to a personal catalog.
