Trump announces creation of US "Artificial Intelligence Force"

Trump announced his initiative on the social network Truth Social, comparing the future branch to the US Space Force established during his first presidential term. However, the American president provided no details regarding the structure, budget, specific tasks, or exact launch timeframe of the organization, noting that the leader's name would be announced later.

The head of the White House stated that the administration does not intend to hold back the development of artificial intelligence technologies, calling this field the next industrial revolution capable of ultimately generating up to 25% of US GDP. Trump stressed the importance of maintaining US superiority over China in the technological sphere and added that existing provisions of criminal and civil law are sufficient to combat abuse without introducing new restrictions.

Previously, venture capitalist David Sacks served as the administration's so-called "AI czar" before transitioning to an advisory role. The new statements came amid preparations for Trump's talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, whose agenda also includes issues surrounding the safety of artificial intelligence use.
