In Russia, they warned about a possible price increase for iPhone 16 and 17

Russian trading networks and marketplaces have stated that there may be a price increase for previous iPhone models after the presentation of new products from Apple. This is reported by RBC with reference to participants in the retail market.

According to retailers, the traditional cheapening of old devices after the release of new lines is not expected this time. The reasons cited include the weakening of the ruble, the increase in logistics costs, the rise in procurement prices, and Apple's increase in the cost of smartphones from previous generations by $100.

Citylink predicts that the iPhone 16 and 17 will become more expensive by 10% or more, linking the main jump to October, when the previously purchased batches will run out. At the same time, M.Video believes that the formed reserves of devices will temporarily restrain price tags, and DNS reported that they do not yet record an increase in the cost of old models. Mobile Research Group analyst Eldar Murtazin estimated the current warehouse reserves of iPhone 16 and iPhone 17 lines in Russia at 300-400 thousand units, noting that high competition and weak demand can prevent price growth until the end of the year.

At the same time, a price increase has already been recorded on individual platforms. According to Yandex Market data, from September 7 to 13, the iPhone 17 Pro Max increased in price by an average of 10%, and the iPhone 17 Pro and 16 Pro Max by 5%. At the same time, on the Avito platform, a sharp surge in demand was recorded in the first week of September: the number of requests for the iPhone 17 Pro with 256 GB of memory increased 5.8 times.
