Mirziyoyev congratulates team on 45 gold medals at Para Asian Games

According to the president, the Uzbek team entered the top three along with China and Japan, ahead of the teams of India, South Korea, Iran, Thailand and Indonesia. As stated in the address, more than 2,600 parathletes from 45 Asian countries participated in the competitions in Aichi-Nagoya. Half of the gold awards of the delegation were won by female athletes.

Powerlifter Ruzi Kuzieva won gold and set a world record. According to the address, Asian records were updated by, among others, Madina Mukhtorova and Karomat Omonova in shot put, Shahina Yigitalieva in javelin throw, Navruz Ahmadova in discus throw, as well as Egor Bolotov in 100m backstroke and 200m medley swimming. Another 16 athletes in para-cycling, powerlifting and para-athletics broke Para Asian Games records.

Bolotov, who made his debut at these Games, took four gold and one silver medals in para-swimming. The standard-bearer of the delegation, Marjona Pardabaeva, became a two-time Asian champion in para-cycling, and a 15-year-old athlete brought the country its first gold medal at the Para Asian Games in track para-cycling and, as noted in the address, became the youngest champion. Dmitry Khorlin stepped onto the Para Asian Games podium for the fourth time.

The president expressed confidence that the result and experience gained in Japan will become the foundation for preparation for the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.
