Young Kazakh football players hospitalized in Tashkent

On the morning of November 2, there were 28 patients at the city infectious hospital No. 5: 16 children, 11 parents, and one coach. By 15:00, some of them were discharged. According to Podrobno.uz, 12 children and nine adults needed medical help.

The mother of one of the players said that the children first felt unwell after breakfast on October 30, and at night on October 31, some of them had a fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. According to the version of Kazakh media, which Podrobno.uz cites, the illness began on October 31. Later, similar symptoms appeared in players from other teams, and on November 1, some football players did not participate in the final matches. Parents associate the disease with breakfast at the hotel where the participants lived and claim that no one who did not eat eggs got sick. There is no official conclusion about the cause yet.

The Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that all citizens of the country who needed help are receiving treatment in specialized medical institutions of Uzbekistan, and diplomats are in contact with hospitals and relatives. The Kazakh Ombudsman for Children, Dinara Zakiyeva, stated that she is in contact with the Uzbek children's ombudsman, and the situation is being monitored by the Uzbek Minister of Health.

The tournament took place from October 28 to November 2. 60 children from three private schools, 32 parents, and four coaches arrived from the Karaganda region. On November 2, 15 people flew to Astana, and the rest plan to leave by train on November 3.
