Two people receive burns during transformer repair in Tashkent

A fire occurred during the repair of a transformer in the Parkwood residential complex in the Mirabad district of Tashkent, with two young people receiving burns, the city administration reported.

According to preliminary data from the city administration, the repair was being carried out by employees of a private enterprise that services consumer electrical equipment, and an interphase short circuit occurred during the work. The victims received burns of varying severity and are being provided with medical assistance. There is no detailed official information about their condition.

On October 27, a video spread on social media showing one of the men's clothes on fire, with eyewitnesses trying to put out the flames with jackets. The transformer station is located on Nukus street.

Toshkent shahar elektr tarmoqlari LLC clarified that the station is on the balance sheet of the consumer and the company does not service it, including through the Mirabad district electricity supply enterprise; the victims are not employees of this enterprise. The Ministry of Energy also named the interphase short circuit as the cause, but according to its data, the repair was carried out by an employee of the consumer itself; the department called for strict adherence to safety requirements when working with electrical equipment. Podrobno.uz and Upl.uz write about one victim.

The city administration stated that the situation is under control, the incident will receive a legal assessment, and after studying the circumstances, measures prescribed by law will be applied to those responsible.
