Munira Aminova named head of Supreme Attestation Commission under Academy of Sciences

Before her new appointment, Aminova served as rector of the International Agriculture University in Tashkent. The university was established in 2022 in partnership with the UK's Royal Agricultural University. In addition, she had served as an adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs since 2024.

Over the years, Aminova has worked at the Ministry of Finance, Westminster International University in Tashkent, the UN, and the International Institute of Administrative Sciences in Brussels, and took part in European Union programmes. She studied at Tashkent State Technical University, the University of Birmingham in the UK, and Vrije Universiteit Brussel.

In May, the reform of the SAC was discussed at a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, when it was announced that the commission would be transferred under the Academy of Sciences. It was previously subordinated to the Ministry of Higher Education, which has now been abolished. Soon after, the government dismissed Ahmadbek Yusupov, who had headed the commission for more than 10 years.

At the same time, the president signed a decree on training and certifying a new generation of scientific personnel. The document approved seven priority areas of training, introduced a rating-based evaluation system for the performance of scientific councils, and established that the SAC carries out its tasks independently.
