Dozens of delegates left the UN General Assembly hall during Netanyahu's speech

Delegations from dozens of countries demonstratively left the UN General Assembly hall during the speech of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The appearance of the Israeli prime minister on September 24 was accompanied by exclamations of support and disapproval, due to which the chairman of the meeting had to call the participants to order. In response to the demarche, Netanyahu characterized the departed representatives as "moral cowards" and called the accusations of Israel's genocide in the Gaza Strip "the greatest lie of the century".

In his address, the prime minister spoke in defense of military operations in the Gaza Strip, Iran, and other regions of the Middle East, stating his intention to continue combat operations. He also thanked US President Donald Trump for joint steps against Iran, criticizing states that condemn Israel.

On the same day, the head of the Palestinian National Administration, Mahmoud Abbas, spoke via video link before the General Assembly, who was denied a US visa for the second year in a row. Abbas accused the Israeli authorities of conducting a destructive policy, expanding settlements on the West Bank, and military actions against the residents of the Gaza Strip, calling on the world community to take decisive measures.

Netanyahu's speech also provoked street actions in New York. According to Podrobno.uz, citing The New York Times, more than 1,250 people took part in the demonstrations, about 100 of them were detained by the Manhattan police.
