Ilhom Idirov heads Tashkent Road Safety Department

The appointment of Ilhom Idirov as the head of the Tashkent Road Safety Department was made public through a resolution of the Tashkent City Council of People's Deputies dated September 25, where Idirov is mentioned in the points with instructions for the department; the information was also confirmed by the Road Safety Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan. According to Podrobno.uz, Idirov has been appointed as the acting head of the department. He replaced Muhammad Adilov in this position.

Previously, Idirov headed the road safety departments in the Kashkadarya region, and since July 2025, he has been heading the Road Safety Department of the Syrdarya Regional Police Department. He also held leadership positions in the central office of the Road Safety Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The resolution of the Tashkent City Council is dedicated to the implementation of the "Havfsiz va Ravan Yul" program in the first half of 2026 and road safety. The document instructs the Tashkent Road Safety Department to accelerate the replacement and installation of road signs, apply road markings, work on traffic light objects, and install surveillance cameras at the city's entrances and intersections. The department is also instructed to organize specialized classes in schools and kindergartens jointly with educational structures, develop an address plan to reduce mortality on the capital's roads within a week, and consider organizing traffic on Khirmontepa, Mirzo-Ulugbek, and Sayram streets.
