Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan visited GSTF forum in Beijing

Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Ilhom Makhkamov participated in the Global Sustainable Transport Forum (GSTF), which took place on 22-23 September in Beijing. This was reported by the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan.

The forum participants considered the issues of sustainable development of transport systems, strengthening of international logistics ties, as well as creation of safe and efficient routes. The agenda included topics such as the transition to "green" transport, introduction of artificial intelligence and modern technologies, transformation of infrastructure, and ensuring wide access of residents to transport services.

Within the framework of the forum, a high-level meeting was held on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor with the participation of representatives of relevant agencies of the states located along the route, international organizations, and large companies. The parties discussed the increase of the corridor's potential between Asia and Europe, development of infrastructure, digitalization of processes, and improvement of the efficiency of transportation.

Particular attention was paid to simplifying rail and road transportation, using port infrastructure, optimizing customs clearance, developing multimodal routes, and reducing logistics costs.
