The action RPG Phantom Blade Zero sold over four million copies in the first 72 hours after release, Chinese developer studio S-Game reported.

The independent studio announced the achievement on the game's official microblog. In the post, the developers thanked players: "Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your love and support!" The game went on sale on October 29 on PC, via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as on PS5.

As 3DNews notes, more than 723,000 concurrent players were in the game on Steam on release day, and the title took the top spot on the platform's global sales chart. Later, the peak concurrent player count rose to 833,900, which corresponds to 14th place in Steam's overall rankings. The share of positive user reviews increased from 79% to 89% in the first days.

The action takes place in a kungfupunk setting, combining kung fu and steampunk. The main character, Soul, an elite assassin from an organization called "The Order," is framed for the death of its patriarch and must clear his name within 66 days.

The game was developed on Unreal Engine 5. As iXBT.com reports citing TechPowerUp, the publication tested 35 graphics cards with it. For 60 frames per second at maximum settings without upscalers in Full HD, an RTX 5060 Ti-level card is sufficient, 1440p requires at least an RTX 4070 Ti, and in 4K only the RTX 5090 shows such a result. Ray tracing reduces performance by about 20–25%.
