'Yandex' restored access to 90.47% of Yandex Cloud data after attacks on data centers

Part of the data and related services have been transferred to a new site, which started working on October 23. Access to them will be opened gradually in the coming days, and clients will be informed about this through Yandex Cloud mailing. The main functions are already working: creating virtual machines and databases, managing Kubernetes clusters, business analytics, protection against cyber threats, and Yandex AI Studio tools. The rest of the data and services are still being restored.

The Yandex 360 press service stated that the availability of files on Yandex Disk is growing daily. According to the team, the preview of documents has been restored, a number of errors when downloading and syncing in the computer application have been fixed, but some users still have difficulties accessing files.

The failures followed attacks on the company's data centers. The object in Vladimir was attacked on the night of October 11, two more data centers were previously affected by drone attacks; according to Kod.ru, we are talking about sites in the Ryazan region and Kaluga. The head of the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia, Maksut Shadaev, said that the ministry helped the company find additional capacities, where key systems were transferred. The company's director of strategic marketing, Andrey Sebrant, earlier stated that the failure turned out to be more serious than the scenario of losing one data center that was being worked out during exercises.
