The company Google has allowed the launch of programs created using artificial intelligence on smartphones running Android without publishing them in the general catalog of Google Play.

Applications are created using the Google AI Studio platform based on a text description, and a standard Google account is used to launch them. According to TechCrunch, such programs remain fully private: they are not displayed in the catalog and search results of Google Play and are available only to the author. At the same time, the created software is still subject to the existing rules of the Google Play platform.

Initially, the feature is available to adult users from the USA. Prior to this innovation, launching a developed program through the store required its publication for the entire Google Play audience, which numbers around 3 billion people, which is why creators often opted for web applications.

According to the company, in the coming months, it will be possible to share created programs with a limited circle of trusted people. Public publication in the catalog will become possible after passing security checks.

What it means

Creators of personal AI programs will be able to launch them on their Android devices without having to make the software publicly available to 3 billion users.
