Volkswagen presents electric crossover ID. Tiguan

The company Volkswagen held a presentation of the new electric crossover ID. Tiguan, which will replace the electric vehicles ID. 4 and ID. 5 in the model range.

According to the statement of the brand's general director Thomas Schaefer, the novelty is designed to combine two successful lines: Tiguan as the best-selling car brand in the world and the line of electric cars ID. 4 and ID. 5. The model is based on the modernized MEB+ platform. In Europe, pre-orders for the electric crossover will open on October 13, 2026, and the initial price will be 42,695 euros. The first deliveries of cars to customers are scheduled for the beginning of 2027.

The electric vehicle will be offered with batteries with a capacity of 58 and 77 kW·h, providing a range of up to 600 km according to the WLTP cycle. The base modification is equipped with an engine with a power of 187 liters. s. The intermediate version with a 77 kW·h battery produces 281-282 liters. s., and the all-wheel drive two-motor version ID. Tiguan 4MOTION received a total power of 295 liters. s. The car is capable of towing a trailer weighing up to 1800 or 2000 kg, depending on the capacity of the traction battery.

The length of the car is 4618 mm, and the wheelbase is 2765 mm. The volume of the main trunk reaches 534 liters, and there is also an additional compartment under the hood for 32 liters. In the interior, the manufacturer returned physical buttons on the steering wheel and climate control unit, installed a 15-inch display of the multimedia system and a 10-inch digital instrument panel with retro-style design of the dashboard. The automaker also plans to release the crossover on the markets of the USA and Canada.
