Microsoft releases Windows 11 26H2 update

The company Microsoft has started distributing the version Windows 11 26H2 for compatible devices.

The rollout of the update started on September 29. The Windows 11 26H2 operating system shares a common codebase and system files with the previous versions 24H2 and 25H2. According to Microsoft, the release is formalized as a small activation package, including features that have already been delivered to computers with monthly updates over the past year.

The release includes personalization of the "Start" menu with the ability to hide the profile and change the size, updated search with automatic indexing of folders, a settings management agent in natural language, as well as tools for tracking artificial intelligence activity and NPU in "Task Manager". In addition, the system received support for simultaneous playback of sound through multiple Bluetooth devices, access to the camera for multiple programs at the same time, and improvements to "Screen Reader".

Installing Windows 11 26H2 updates the platform's support cycle. Home and Pro editions will receive updates for 24 months, and commercial versions of the operating system will receive them for 36 months.
