Bleu Jour Releases Mini-PC Made of 24-Karat Gold for $1.7 Million

French company Bleu Jour has manufactured a custom-made fanless mini-computer Kubb Fanless in a solid 24-karat gold case worth $1.7 million. This was reported by the FanlessTech portal.

The device is made in the shape of a cube with dimensions of 120 × 120 × 120 mm. Unlike the standard version with an aluminum case, which weighs 2.1 kg, the weight of the gold version reaches approximately 13 kg. Since the computer is not equipped with fans, the metal case takes on the role of a radiator for heat dissipation from the internal components.

The thermal conductivity of gold is around 314 W/(m·K), while for aluminum this figure is approximately 205 W/(m·K). The basic aluminum version of the computer is sold for around $1.8 thousand (from 1595 euros on the manufacturer's website).

The Kubb Fanless line supports the installation of Intel Core Ultra 5 225H, Core Ultra X7 358H or AMD Ryzen AI 5 340 processors, up to 128 GB of DDR5 RAM and a 1 TB NVMe solid-state drive with the possibility of connecting a second SSD. The exact hardware configuration of the sold gold instance is not disclosed.
