Bentley presented its first serial electric car Torcal

Bentley presented its first serial electric car Torcal. The British company presented a five-meter crossover Torcal, which became the first serial electric car of the brand. The novelty became the fourth independent line of the British brand. The model received two electric motors, an 800-volt architecture and a traction battery with a capacity of 113 kW·h, providing a range of up to 600 km according to the WLTP cycle. At fast charging stations with a power of 400 kW, the charge can be replenished from 10 to 80% in 16 minutes (according to iXBT.com - less than 20 minutes). The manufacturer provides a guarantee for the battery for 10 years or 160 thousand kilometers of mileage.

The crossover is offered in two versions with all-wheel drive. The base modification develops 821 horsepower and 1194 N·m, accelerating to 100 km/h in 3.3-3.4 seconds with a maximum speed of 250 km/h. The Torcal S version with the Launch Control system produces 888 horsepower and 1350 N·m, reaching a maximum speed of 260 km/h and accelerating to 100 km/h in 2.8-2.9 seconds. Instead of the traditional engine sound, engineers applied a dynamic synthesized composition of percussion and string instruments.

The electric car is equipped with an active suspension without classic stabilizers of transverse stability and a fully controlled chassis with a turning radius of 11.1 meters. The volume of the luggage compartment is 460 liters, and another 90 liters are provided under the hood. The assembly of the model will be established at the plant in the British city of Crewe. According to the publication Hi-Tech Mail, the production will start in the second quarter of 2027, and the base price in the UK will be £173,300.
