Media: "Manchester City" found guilty on 114 counts of breaching EPL financial rules

The football club "Manchester City" has been found guilty on 114 out of 115 counts of breaching the financial rules of the English Premier League (EPL), according to The Athletic.

According to the publication's sources, sanctions against the club have not been determined yet, with various options being considered, and an appeal from the team is expected. The club stated that the investigation is ongoing and is strictly confidential, and Manchester City's position remains the same: the team rejects the allegations.

The investigation began in 2018, and the Premier League filed the charges in February 2023. They concerned the provision of inaccurate financial reporting, incomplete disclosure of payments to coaches during Roberto Mancini's tenure from 2009 to 2013, non-compliance with fair play and financial sustainability requirements from 2013 to 2018, as well as refusal to cooperate with regulatory bodies.

The tournament regulations provide for fines, deduction of points, and as a last resort, exclusion from the tournament. Specific disciplinary measures have not been announced yet.
