President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is holding a meeting on labor migration on November 2, according to the Telegram channel of the Customs Committee and the Ministry of Justice.

According to the publication, the head of state drew attention to the changes in the global labor market. Currently, 168 million people are involved in foreign migration worldwide. Uzbekistan has citizens who want to work abroad, and other countries have a high demand for labor. Combining these two opportunities is considered the main task for those responsible for the industry and regional leaders.

"A person should perfectly master their profession, know their worth, and have the opportunity to rely on their country," the president said.

The message notes that previously, Uzbekistan worked with three states in terms of organized labor migration, and now there are 27. The number of major foreign employers with whom cooperation has been established has grown by almost 400.

Over the past ten years, the number of Uzbek citizens working abroad has decreased by half, while the amounts they send to their families have increased fourfold. According to the president, this indicates that the attitude towards Uzbek specialists in the international labor market has changed, and people are now leaving as qualified personnel, not just as ordinary workers.
