From January to September 2026, 850 thousand dollars in unpaid wages and compensation were recovered from foreign employers in favor of citizens of Uzbekistan, the Migration Agency reported.

The money was recovered following 817 appeals from Uzbek citizens who worked abroad. Most of these cases were related to Russia — 533. Another 155 appeals concerned Turkey, 92 — South Korea, and 37 — other states.

In addition, the agency helped retrieve identification documents that had been held by intermediaries and foreign employers. Over the same period, 532 citizens received their documents back. By country, this accounts for 331 cases in Russia, 185 in Turkey, 11 in Kazakhstan, and 5 in South Korea.

The agency also reminded where to turn for those who face difficulties while working abroad, whether regarding wages, documents, or employment. For this purpose, the short number 1282 and the Telegram bot @huquqiy_yordam_uzbot are operational, with applications through the bot accepted around the clock.
