Minenergy: private firms cannot threaten gas disconnection

The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan warned that private servicing companies do not have the right to force residents to maintain equipment or threaten to disconnect from the gas supply. According to the Ministry of Energy, reports have been received from individual regions about visits from representatives of private companies. They offer services for the maintenance of gas boilers and stoves, stating their mandatory nature and threatening to disconnect gas in case of refusal.

The department clarified that private structures with the appropriate permits are entitled to service equipment, but work is carried out exclusively at the oral, written or electronic request of the consumer himself, according to established tariffs and conditions. According to paragraph 12 of the Cabinet of Ministers' decree No. 319, private organizations are not authorized to disconnect consumers from the network. The gas supply organization ("Hududgazta'minot") can stop fuel supply due to debts.

The ministry added that for checking the integrity of equipment, citizens can voluntarily contact the departments of JSC "Hududgazta'minot". In case of threats or coercion to services, consumers are asked to call the Ministry of Energy's trust phone (+998 71 231-10-64), "Hududgazta'minot" (+998 71 202-11-04, 1104) or send appeals through their Telegram bots.
