Over 3,000 household gas cylinders seized in Uzbekistan in three days

The inspections involved the SSS, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and Uzenergoinspektsiya. More than 3,000 cylinders and 13,636 kg of gas inside them were seized. The gas was intended for residents of non-gasified districts. According to the SSS, the involvement of gas service workers was established in 39 episodes.

In Jizzakh region, according to the agencies, nine cases involving the storage of a total of 239 cylinders were identified. An individual who held a leadership position in the Zaamin district gas supply department is suspected of storing 152 of them in the home of a relative. In Khavast district of Syrdarya region, 30 cylinders were seized from the home of an official of the district department. In Urgut district of Samarkand region, a watchman at a refilling station was detained while selling three cylinders for 2.5 million soums. In Pastdargom district, 22 cylinders were found in the possession of a local resident: according to the SSS, he had been buying them from a driver of the district department for 70,000 soums and selling them for 100,000 soums.

In Kushtepa district of Fergana region, an engineer and a locksmith of the district department kept eight cylinders at home for sale, according to the agencies. In Surkhandarya region, 65 cylinders were seized, and in Khatyrchi district of Navoi region, 26 cylinders were seized from a driver of the district department. Violations were also uncovered in Karakalpakstan, Khorezm, Namangan, and other regions.

Reports on the illegal sale of gas can be made to the SSS call center (1520), to JSC Hududgaztaminot (1104), or to the Ministry of Energy. The confidentiality of informants is guaranteed.
