Anorbank and Central Bank commented on the bank's work amid reports about a shareholder

Anorbank and the Central Bank of Uzbekistan have stated that the bank is operating in a standard mode amid reports by foreign media outlets about one of its shareholders.

The press service of Anorbank stated that the information being circulated concerns only the personal matters of the shareholder and has no relation to the bank's capital, management, or operational activities. The bank emphasized that it has not received any official confirmations or requests from competent authorities, and all operations and obligations to clients are being fulfilled in the usual manner.

The reason for this was a report by The Insider, which, citing an anonymous source, claimed that one of the bank's co-owners had allegedly been arrested in absentia in Uzbekistan and put on the international wanted list in a case involving the kidnapping of a person. However, the publication itself noted that there is no official information about the existence of such a criminal case, and the law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan have not confirmed this information.

The Central Bank, on the X platform, noted that the situation surrounding a individual shareholder does not determine the financial stability of the institution. According to the regulator's data as of September 1, the bank's assets totaled 21.4 trillion soums, liabilities - 19.8 trillion soums. The share of highly liquid assets reached 16.9% with a norm of 10%, the liquidity coverage ratio - 116%, and the sufficiency of regulatory capital - 13% with a minimum requirement of 12%.
