In Tashkent, a register of sick and hazardous trees will be created

The document was adopted on 7 October. According to the decision, the inventory will affect trees and shrubs that are affected by pests and diseases, have dried up, are damaged due to natural factors or pose a threat to the health of residents and property. As a result of the checks, a single register will be compiled with data on the number, species, age, condition and coordinates of the plantings.

The process will be coordinated by a working group headed by the first deputy khokim of the capital, Bakhtiyor Rakhmonov. Specialists will conduct on-site inspections, systematize the information and enter it into the database. Plantings recognized as emergency or dried up can be cut down only after the organizations responsible for the balance of territories submit applications and receive official permits.

The heads of profile departments and enterprises are personally responsible for the accuracy of the data. The Ecology Department of Tashkent will be engaged in selective control on the ground to verify the information and will report quarterly to the khokimiyat. As explained in the press service of the city administration to Gazeta.uz, it is not always necessary to cut down the tree completely: in some cases, it is enough to cut off dry branches that threaten to fall during strong winds.
