In Tashkent, the quality of air may temporarily deteriorate at night and in the morning until the end of the week. This was warned by the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change of Uzbekistan.

According to the agency, from 17:00 on October 6 to 10:00 on October 7, the average concentration of fine particulate matter PM2.5 was 43.5 mcg/m³, and PM10 was 97.2 mcg/m³. The average value of the international AQI index reached 117 ("unfavorable for sensitive groups"). On the national scale, PM2.5 was at the "green" level, and PM10 was at the "yellow" level, rising to "orange" by 10:00 on October 7.

Ecologists named unfavorable meteorological conditions as the main reason for the change in indicators: wind speed of about 1 m/s and strong nighttime temperature inversion. From 23:00 on October 6 to 08:00 on October 7, the temperature difference in the inversion layer was from 1.8 to 6.7 degrees. The warm air layer formed over the cold earth prevented vertical mixing and dispersion of harmful impurities.

Such weather factors can lead to a temporary decline in air quality at night and in the morning until the end of the week. The Special Commission continues to monitor the state of the air.
