In the evening of October 4, short-term dust storms are possible in Tashkent before the arrival of moist air masses. This was warned by the Special Commission for Improving the Environmental Situation in the Capital and the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change.

According to forecasts by specialists, the wind speed in the city will be 3–8 m/s, and in some locations, gusts may reach 10–14 m/s. The strengthening of the wind can cause a temporary rise in dust and an increase in the concentration of dust particles in the atmosphere, primarily PM10.

The Uzhydromet also reported that during the day, the wind will strengthen to 13–18 m/s in some parts of the country. In some districts of Karakalpakstan, Bukhara, Navoi, Jizzakh, Surkhandarya and Fergana regions, gusts may reach 20–22 m/s with a dust storm.

The National Committee for Ecology also noted that on October 2-3 in Tashkent, a temperature inversion and weak wind were recorded, which reduced the dispersion of pollutants. According to the analysis of samples from the territory of Green University from noon on October 2 to noon on October 3, mineral and soil dust accounted for 67% of PM2.5 particles and 80% of PM10 particles.
