A massive fish kill has been recorded in the Salar canal in Tashkent. A large number of dead fish were found in the canal, and specialists took water samples for analysis. This was reported by the Tashkent city administration and the Main Department of Ecology of Tashkent.

The dead fish, including large and medium-sized ones, were spotted on Friday, October 2, near the Ecopark. Among them were both wild species - carp and marinka, as well as decorative koi carp. At the same time, live ducks were also found on the surface of the water.

The administration of the nearby Central Park ruled out the possibility that the fish got into the canal from their artificial lake. Upstream, where a pedestrian zone has been under construction since the end of September, no dead fish have been recorded.

Inspectors from the city's ecology department inspected the canal and took water samples. According to Khidoiat Zhuraboeva, an employee of the analytical laboratory of the department's monitoring department, the results of the chemical analysis will be prepared within several days. According to the city administration, if any violations are detected, the materials will be sent to law enforcement agencies for legal evaluation.
