In Tashkent, students were evicted from an unfinished TGTU dormitory

According to the information of the relevant department, the dormitory building on the territory of the Student City has not yet received cadastral documents and official permits for use. In addition, the heating and hot water supply systems have not been fully launched at the facility, and the construction work was not completed within the established timeframe.

As stated by the ministry, the entrepreneur settled the students without corresponding directions and in violation of the established order, about which the university and the department were not notified in advance. Among those living there were students from other institutes and foreign students. For safety reasons, they were evacuated from the building: TGTU students were temporarily accommodated in free spaces in other dormitories of the university, and students from other institutions were handed over to representatives of their organizations. According to the department, the entrepreneur fully returned the paid accommodation fees.

As reported to Kun.uz by the students who applied, they were announced the need to vacate the rooms on October 5, and about 300 people left the building on the evening of October 6. Some of them were forced to go to hostels or to acquaintances. The ministry noted that the procedure for registering the cadastre and obtaining permits is ongoing, after which the facility is planned to be officially put into operation.
