In Uzbekistan, Children of Pedagogues Have Been Granted a 30% Discount on a Contract in State Universities

The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan has approved the procedure for providing a 30% discount on contract payment for children of pedagogues studying in state higher education institutions. The resolution was adopted on September 17.

The measure will come into effect from the 2026/2027 academic year. The benefit is intended for full-time bachelor's degree students of state higher education institutions - both newly enrolled and continuing students. When several children-students are studying in a family, the discount is calculated separately for each without quantitative restrictions.

Applications are submitted in electronic form through the kontrakt.edu.uz service. The status of a pedagogical worker and kinship are verified through the integration platform of the "Digital Government" system. The application is considered within two working days, after which the discount is automatically credited once per academic year. In case the parent stops working as a pedagogue, the benefit ceases to apply from the next academic year.

The rule does not apply to education in non-state higher education institutions, foreign educational institutions and their branches in the republic, higher military and militarized institutions. Additionally, the discount does not apply to joint educational programs, faculties of foreign partner universities, as well as to additional and differentiated contracts.
