In the nine months of 2026, the average nominal accrued wage in Uzbekistan reached 7.274 million soums. This is 18% more than a year earlier, reported the National Statistics Committee, which also published the median salary for the first time.

For the same period in 2025, the figure stood at 6.17 million soums. The calculation did not include small enterprises, micro-firms, and agricultural enterprises, so it does not cover all workers. Statistics that include these categories are published once a year.

Tashkent retains first place among the regions: 12.3 million soums, with year-on-year growth of 18.3%. It is followed by Navoi (8.82 million) and Tashkent (6.89 million) regions. Workers in Kashkadarya (4.97 million) and Surkhandarya (4.99 million) regions earn the least. Earnings grew fastest in Namangan region (by 20.3%) and slowest in Samarkand region (by 11.5%).

By industry, banking, insurance, leasing, and credit activities lead with 19.71 million soums. They are followed by information and communication (17.01 million) and transportation and storage (11.27 million). The latter industry showed the highest growth rate, at 19.8%. Remuneration is lowest in healthcare and social services, at 4.45 million soums. In education, it stands at 5.02 million.

The committee calculated the median salary on an experimental basis: for January–August, it amounted to 4.166 million soums. Half of workers receive less than this amount, and half earn more. The highest median is in Tashkent (6.79 million) and Navoi region (6.21 million), while the lowest is in Syrdarya region (about 3 million). Data for September has not been fully compiled, so, as the committee explained, the median cannot be directly compared with the average salary for the nine months.
