In Uzbekistan, it is planned to introduce mandatory digital labeling of vegetable oil from July 1, 2027. The relevant draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers was developed by the Tax Committee.

The project of the document has been put up for public discussion, which will last until October 24. The agency names the digitalization of production and sales of products, as well as the prevention of their illegal import, release, and sale, as the goals of introducing labeling.

The requirement is proposed to be extended to various types of oils, including sunflower, cotton, olive, soybean, palm, and rapeseed. According to the project, a code in the GS1 DataMatrix format will be applied to the packaging of the product (directly to the container or using a special sticker). Manufacturers, importers, wholesale and retail trade enterprises will have to register in the national Asl belgisi system and transmit data to it on the introduction of products into circulation, their movement, and withdrawal from it. The sale of goods without labeling codes is planned to be qualified as a violation of trade rules.

The system operator - CRPT Turon company - together with the Tax Committee, must provide registered manufacturers and importers with equipment for managing code orders with the possibility of remote use by January 1, 2027. From the same date, the document provides for the launch of labeling code aggregation.
