Base electricity consumption norm to be raised to 350 kWh in non-gasified areas of Uzbekistan

The measure will affect non-gasified localities and areas where gas is not supplied. As clarified by the president's press service, during the presentation of support measures for the autumn-winter period, it was also proposed to extend until April 1, 2028, the deadline for reimbursing part of the costs of gas and electricity consumed in excess of the base norm. Over the course of the year, 470 thousand families are expected to use this compensation.

In addition, meeting participants considered raising the per-family-member income threshold to 1.43 million soums for compensating expenses on electricity, coal, gas, and utilities for those not listed in the Social Register. The estimated coverage of this measure will comprise an additional 166 thousand families. In December, it was also proposed to consider providing one-off financial assistance to those in need.
