PDPU calls to consider family income when revising transport tariffs

The People's Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (PDPU) has stated that when revising transport tariffs, it is necessary to consider the population's income and introduce a preferential travel rate for schoolchildren.

In the party's statement, it is noted that when revising the cost of travel, it is necessary to take into account not only the expenses of carriers but also the impact of changes on the budget of low-income and large families, as well as the daily trips of schoolchildren and students. The PDPU emphasized the importance of an open assessment of the social consequences of decisions and explaining their justification to the public.

The party also proposed to provide a separate preferential tariff for all schoolchildren, and for children from socially vulnerable and large families - additional support mechanisms. At the same time, the party supported the initiative to launch school buses, School Bus, clarifying that this system should not impose an additional financial burden on parents.

The reason for the statement was the discussion of a project, according to which from October 1, the cost of one trip with electronic payment in public transport in Tashkent is proposed to be increased from 1700 to 2500 soum.
