Gigabyte Confirms Release of New Intel Processors for LGA 1700 Socket

In early 2027, Intel plans to release new processors for the LGA 1700 socket, Gigabyte announced in an official press release.

The manufacturer of motherboards has already released BIOS updates for its entire line of boards based on Intel B760 and H610 chipsets. According to Gigabyte's statement, the new chips will be able to work on existing models with support for DDR4 and DDR5 memory standards, and users of compatible systems will only need to update the board's firmware.

Other chipsets for the LGA 1700 socket - in particular Z690, Z790 and B660 - are not mentioned in Gigabyte's message, as well as the official names of the processors themselves. It is expected that the new products will be another update to the Raptor Lake architecture line, and the start of their production is scheduled for the end of January 2027.

What it means

Owners of Gigabyte motherboards on B760 and H610 chipsets will be able to install future Intel processors without replacing the platform, by updating the BIOS version from the company's official support website.
