Humoyunmirzo Halimov wins Uzbekistan's first medal at Asian Games-2026

Karatist Humoyunmirzo Halimov brought the first medal to the Uzbekistan team at the XX Summer Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya-2026, winning silver. This was reported by the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan.

The athlete performed in the weight category up to 55 kg and reached the final of the competition. In the decisive bout for the gold medal, Halimov lost to the athlete from Kazakhstan, Zholaman Bigabyl.

The Asian Games in Japan are held from September 19 to October 4. In total, the Uzbekistan delegation at the tournament consists of 396 athletes who are listed in 42 sports.
