Uzbekistan Approves New Elevator Maintenance Rules from 2027

The registration of an elevator will be free of charge. If the primary technical inspection is successful, the authorized body will register the elevator within two working days and issue a certificate with a QR code to the customer. The platform, developed by the Ministry of Construction, will also be used to conclude and terminate maintenance contracts, store their results, and buy and sell elevators and spare parts. It is prohibited to operate equipment and parts obtained outside of the platform.

Building management companies must organize monthly technical maintenance of elevators, while service companies will work according to a schedule: monthly, quarterly, every six months, and annually. Construction organizations are required to maintain elevators in new apartment buildings for a year after they are put into operation. The installer provides a warranty of at least three years for each elevator, and repair or replacement of parts during this period should not exceed 15 days.

The elevator cabin will display an identification number, registration data with a QR code, and contact information of the building management company and maintenance organization. It is forbidden to transport construction materials and waste, oversized items, chemicals with a strong smell, as well as explosive, flammable, radioactive, and highly toxic substances in passenger elevators.

If an elevator is marked with a red tag and its use is prohibited, maintenance is not performed, and the monthly fee cannot be charged for this period. Service companies will be included in the register for free, upon online notification.
