Tashkent plans to open 100 public toilets in 2026

Tashkent plans to place 100 new sanitary and hygienic facilities. The corresponding decision was signed by the khokim of the capital, Shavkat Umarzakov.

According to a document dated October 5, sanitary facilities are planned to be organized in 2026 under a public-private partnership in a simplified procedure. The facilities will be located on central and tourist streets, in squares, as well as near places visited by residents and guests of the capital.

For topographic work necessary for the placement of toilets, 140.4 million soums are allocated from the Tashkent City Development Fund. These funds will be received by LLC "Scientific Research Design Institute of Engineering Surveys in Construction, Geoinformation and Urban Cadastre". The proposal for financing should be considered and approved by the supervisory board of JSC "Toshkent Invest kompaniyasi".

The city department of the State Financial Control Inspection will monitor the targeted use of the allocated funds. The creation of a network of points is provided for by the presidential decree on the socio-economic development of Tashkent for 2026-2027.
