Uzbekistan establishes diplomatic relations with Vanuatu

Uzbekistan and the Pacific state of Vanuatu have formalized the establishment of diplomatic relations by signing a joint communique in New York. The procedure for signing took place on 22 September. The document was signed by the permanent representatives of the two countries to the United Nations, Ulugbek Lapasov from Uzbekistan and Odo Tevi from Vanuatu.

During the meeting, the diplomats noted the importance of deepening interaction on the platforms of international organizations, including the UN system and its institutions.

Vanuatu is located in the southwest of the Pacific Ocean on 83 islands of the New Hebrides archipelago. The state became the 169th country with which official Tashkent established diplomatic ties.
