Uzbekistan to host meetings of CIS and SCO General Prosecutors in 2027

The next meetings of the Coordination Council of General Prosecutors of the CIS countries and the General Prosecutors of the SCO countries will be held in Uzbekistan in 2027.

Decisions to hold the next meetings in Uzbekistan were announced following the events of the supervisory authorities in Kazan. The 36th meeting of the Coordination Council of General Prosecutors of the CIS countries and the 24th meeting of the General Prosecutors of the SCO member states took place in the capital of Tatarstan, according to UzA, UzDaily and Podrobno.uz.

The meeting of the CIS Council was attended by the heads of the supervisory bodies of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan. The General Prosecutor of Uzbekistan Nigmatilla Yuldashev delivered a report on the return of assets from abroad. The parties signed an Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Counter-Terrorism and Extremism, agreed on the concept of a future treaty on the return of assets and established an interagency expert network in this area. The Chairman of the Council was elected as the General Prosecutor of the Russian Federation Alexander Gutsan, with whom Yuldashev also held a separate meeting.

At the meeting of the heads of departments of the SCO countries, the delegations discussed the protection of the family, children's rights and counteraction to violence. Nigmatilla Yuldashev presented a report on the topic of protecting family values and preventing the spread of destructive content among minors. Following the meeting, the parties signed a protocol on further strengthening cooperation.
