Kindergarten worker in Namangan region arrested on suspicion of violence

A worker at a kindergarten in the Namangan region has been arrested on suspicion of violence. In the Uchkurgan district of the Namangan region, the head of the kindergarten warehouse was detained on suspicion of sexual violence against a five-year-old child. This was reported by the office of the Children's Ombudsman and relevant agencies.

The investigative unit of the Uchkurgan district police department initiated a criminal case on September 12 under part 4 of article 118 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan (rape of a person who, to the knowledge of the perpetrator, has not reached the age of fourteen). The suspect was detained in a procedural order, after which the court decided to put him in custody. The investigation is ongoing.

According to the National Agency for Social Protection, specialists from the district social services center "Inson" assessed the situation at the minor's place of residence and determined that she was in a high-risk situation. Together with law enforcement officers and medics, measures were taken to eliminate the threat to her life and health.

Currently, the girl is staying at home with her parents. The child and mother are provided with medical, psychological, social, and legal services. The situation is being monitored by the office of the authorized person for children's rights.
