The past September became one of the warmest in the entire history of meteorological observations in Uzbekistan. This was reported in the review of the Uzhydromet.

The average air temperature for the month was 1.2–2.5 degrees higher than the climatic norm on most of the republic, while in the north and the Fergana Valley, the indicators were near normal in some areas. In Tashkent, the average monthly temperature of September was in fourth place in the list of the warmest for the entire period of observations. The prevailing daytime temperature ranged from +29 to +34 degrees, and on the hottest days in the south and desert areas, the air warmed up to +38 degrees. In the last week of the month, there was a smooth cooling to +24…+27 degrees.

The month was also characterized by drought: on most of the territory, there was almost no rain or one to three short-term precipitation was recorded. The exception was Karakalpakstan and the Fergana Valley, where the amount of precipitation was 5–14 mm, exceeding the norm by 1.5–3 times, and in some areas by 4–6 times. In addition, on September 24, in the Chust district of the Namangan region, specialists recorded a mudflow phenomenon.
