In Uzbekistan, reverse vending machines with a payout of 150 soums for cans and bottles have been launched

In Uzbekistan, a pilot project has been launched to install reverse vending machines for collecting glass, aluminum and plastic containers from drinks. This was reported by the Agency for Waste Management and Development of a Circular Economy.

For each accepted container, the user is credited with 150 soums. The money can be withdrawn to a Click wallet or transferred to charitable causes and tree planting projects.

The project is being implemented by the agency together with the Norwegian company TOMRA. The separately collected containers are sent for recycling for secondary use of raw materials in the production of new products.

The first machine was installed in the Chilanzar district of Tashkent, near the building of the National Committee for Ecology, at 7A Bunyodkor street. In the event of successful pilot results, the machines are planned to be gradually introduced in places of crowd gathering and in the regions of the country.
