In Uzbekistan, 1342 new educational materials will be prepared by 2027

In Uzbekistan, until 2027, 1342 new educational materials are planned to be prepared. This became known during the presentation of education reforms with the participation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on September 28.

During the analysis of previous school textbooks, specialists recorded 1257 errors in 260 books, as well as 464 translation errors in 51 publications. In addition, the auditors revealed a mismatch between some topics and the age of students, as well as an excessive focus on mechanical memorization.

In the development of new materials, international experience is being used: textbooks for primary school are certified by the Finnish Education Alliance, and textbooks on mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology for 5-7th grades are being created according to Singaporean models. The programs include 255 career guidance lessons and over 300 topics on environmental literacy. The qualifications of 110 thousand primary school teachers have been improved, and with the assistance of Singaporean specialists, 121 master trainers and 739 mentors have been trained, who have trained another 90 thousand teachers.

At the meeting, the development of dual education was also discussed. The system plans to cover at least 80% of students in the 3-4th years of universities - about 185 thousand people. In the 2027/2028 academic year, 12.5 thousand students from 75 universities will undergo practical training at 3.5 thousand enterprises. Partner enterprises are offered to subsidize 50% of students' salaries and provide tax benefits. In addition, a branch of the Liaoning Pedagogical University is being prepared to open in Khiva, with the first intake scheduled for the 2026/2027 academic year.
