Ministry of Economic Development and Finance discusses IPO preparation with Franklin Templeton

Deputy Prime Minister and head of the Ministry of Economic Development and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov held talks with the leadership of the international investment company Franklin Templeton on October 13, the ministry reported.

The parties considered reforms in Uzbekistan, the transformation of enterprises in the portfolio of the National Investment Fund (UzNIF), the improvement of their financial transparency and corporate governance, as well as the development of the capital market.

The meeting participants also separately discussed the preparation of shares of a number of companies for initial public offering (IPO), entering international platforms and attracting institutional investors.

From Franklin Templeton, the talks involved Chief Investment Officer of Templeton Global Investments Manraj Sekhon and General Director for Central Asia Marius Dan. From the Ministry of Economic Development and Finance, Deputy Minister Khurshid Mustafaev also attended. Following the dialogue, the parties expressed their intention to continue interacting.
